logo yo

Making logos for ourselves was a fun project, but it was also difficult. I had made about 5 different logo ideas and had a very hard time choosing which one to go with. The reason I went with this one is because I like the way the edges are sharp and if you couldn't already tell it is the letter K. The way I made this was I used basic shapes and warped them to the desired shape. I then added effects that made it look the way I wanted it too. I went with the color blue because it is my favorite color and I like everything blue.

Thank You Card yo

One of our recent projects was creating thank you card that we will use to send our gratitude to companies and businesses that provide us with their services. I had a bit of trouble coming up with an idea for this because Iv'e never done something like this before. How I went about this was I asked myself what I would want to see in a thank you card. My answer was, something friendly, something that really says thank you, colors, something that can put a smile on my face. I then made the design of two little people throwing stars, that's pretty friendly right? and the font was an 8-bit theme because I really like old style games.

carrots yo

The carrot business has changed dramatically in the last decade. Jeff Dun (CEO of Bolthouse Farms), aims to advertise baby carrots like junk food in order to increase sales. It was during the recession when the sales of baby carrots went somewhat dead, something had to be done. Many ideas were put on the table to advertise them better such as a commercial of  sexy celebrity rubbing a baby carrot on her lips and a guy flying through the aisle of a grocery store in a grocery cart dodging baby carrots.

Also the packaging of baby carrots played a big role. They came up with  few prototypes of different bags they could sell them in. They want to package them like chips in a small plastic bags with a bunny character or a baby carrot eclipse to make them look "cool". This is what they meant when they wanted to advertise them like junk food.

Personally I hate carrots, and packaging them in any sort of way will not make me buy them. But, I do understand where they're coming from. I did find it very interesting that the bags could make such a big difference. advertising baby carrots like junk food in my opinion was a very smart role and will result in great success

Sponsorship and Marketing in the Olympics

Social media has had a negative effect on sponsorships of the olympics due to the fact that brands can advertise their product via facebook or twitter for free rather than paying millions of dollars to promote it on the olympics. A big question now a days is, are sponsorships even worth it now that unofficial brands can piggyback the successions of the olympic events.

An example of the halo effect in the Olympics is when people will buy Nike brand shoes because their favorite athlete wore them in an event. this is also an example of brand equity.

Nike has made a very smart slogan; MakeitCount where they are able to advertise without bieng an actual Olympic sponsorship.
